Our carrier often leaves packages that are too large to fit into our mailbox on top of it rather than putting them on our porch. So far, we have been lucky and haven't had anything stolen. This past Saturday, we received a notice that some items were delivered at 9:10 PM, I confirmed it using the USPS tracking number via the USPS.com website but when I went to the mailbox to check, they were not there. As of today, 1:36 PM the items have still not been delivered even though the USPS site says, "Your item was delivered in or at the mailbox at 9:10 pm on December 7, 2024 in New Market, AL 35761". Not surprising since our mail is often delivered late at night, mail is often misdelivered to our neighbors' mailboxes (only fair since we receive quite a bit of theirs as well) or is often delivered a day or more late.
