Frankly, I am disappointed that once again I have witnessed the mail carrier drive round to our box and leave only to discover -yet again- that the carrier has left a pink slip in our box indicating that we were not available for a required signature. There is literally no way that they even attempt to approach our house and then they outright lie about having done so. There is someone available 24/7 not 15 feet from the door and we are able to hear either the bell or a knock. This issue has been brought to the office’s attention every time that I (handicapped) have to go to the office to retrieve my package. I have no trust in their ability to “make a second attempt” as that has failed in the past also. This issue has gone on for several years, even well before the pandemic. I understand that finding workers to submit to the utter chaos of treatments they must endure under mismanagement and abuses of scheduling but this issues can and should be addressed. More workers treated with respect, paid well for their time and allowed to be “off the clock” as required by law would improve the delivery of the mail. The carriers wouldn’t feel the time crunches demanded by management they indirectly encourage the carrier to skip obtaining required delivery signatures. I am WELL AWARE of management issues as I have a relative who was employed at a local PO in the area and who was so over worked and abused he quit with both mental and physical health issues. The lack of sleep and verbal harassment due to demands of even greater performance when he was out performing all other new hires and the demands to do others work are and we’re morally let alone ethically wrong when there are people who want to work but can not abide the current management system (individuals unsuited for management) that is in place. All your problems can and should be addressed by first hiring well trained management. Longevity in the employ of the Post Office does NOT mean that an individual is suited to manage. Better management will trickle down to better and happier employees and ultimately a better service. I am offering one star in hopes that issues both here in Woodinville and at the local “hub” can improve. Please excuse any typos as even this site is poorly done and I am not able to scroll up to edit.
