I live in a subdivision called Trailwood, we have rural type mailboxes since our community typically has lots of 1,5 to 8 acres. Thus we don't have a community mailbox, Normally, when there is mail delivery, our mailperson delivers boxes that are too large to fit in the mailbox either to our garage, and more often to the front porch, which is greatly appreciated. Yesterday, a box was left down at the road by the mailbox, it contained close to $8,000 in critical mail supplies which were urgently needed. I know it is possible to add delivery instructions as i use Informed Delivery and will do so in the future, Please remind the mail carriers that it's just a box to them, but may represent a huge investment or be a potential life or death concern to customers when packages are just left propped up against the mailbox in rural-like areas. I know it takes a little extra time, but it's a good practice when it's been left on the porch for years, then one day, when it's so crucial, it's not. Fortunately, the box was retrieved before someone drove buy and committed a theft, which is relatively common in our subdivision. Thank you for alerting mail carriers!

Mail is being stolen daily from mailboxes on my street. all boxes hanging open, locked boxes destroyed. I called the Boerne PO, to report. No answer.
