I have a problem with this office Returning 3 packages and one Mother's Day card while I was there for 3 weeks in April/May 2025.
Once I discovered my packages were returned, I called the Post Office and was told that our address is considered inactive and Carrier only gets paid for active addresses. I could not get any resolution to this problem at that time so I called a second time after my Mother's Day card came back to my daughter.
Now I'm being told that the Carrier delivered a package and watched it sit there for a week so then determined the house was vacant which is a lie. Why would I have packages delivered to an address where I am not at. And why would my daughter send my Mother's Day card to me at my mom's if I'm not there?
Isn't the Post Office a public servant paid for by our taxes?
The man on the phone insisted that his story was true and that I wasn't listening to him but in reality he wasn't listening to me when I said the Carrier was wrong. He tried to tell me that mail had piled up in the mailbox which is not true. We don't have any mail normally delivered there Because our mom is 87 and her mail goes to our homes. occasionally they put some junk mail in the box which we clear out at least once a month during winter mos when no one is there. Mom lives with one of us 4-5 mos over winter.
During those mos, we don't order anything sent to her house.
I don't know what is going on with this public service but this is wrong! Should I start asking shippers not to send things through the Post Office because they won't deliver it?
I probably can't control that so what am I supposed to do?
This is a really bad policy and I don't understand why they started doing this. I didn't have a problem at all last summer, 2024. This just started this year. If I order something and have it delivered to this address then I am obviously there, so how can the Carrier determine it's vacant?
This is a terrible policy and seems like they will be losing business because when shippers realize they won't Deliver what they ship, then they won't ship with PO.
If anyone at this Warsaw Post Office is reading this, I'm begging you to please start delivering whatever is sent there. We just got hospice care for our mom and they will be delivering meds and diapers and thanks to her there so we need them to be delivered. And anything else we need to order for her needs to be delivered to the door, not returned. Please fix this! We are not inactive most of the Year! If we are not there, we will not have anything sent there... Just common sense.
If there's something we need to do to correct this situation please call my brother, Rod, at 574-361-5076. He is living there with her at this time.
Thank you
