What is happening at the Post Office? It seems that the machines that read the addresses can not do that correctly, so much for AI. Maybe the carriers should look at the addresses. Today I received a piece of mail that belonged to my next door neighbor. I can see that happening but I also received a piece of mail that has the following ZIP code 24401-3629, and my ZIP code is 24401-4858. Even the house number was way off it was 220 N Market ST and mine is 588 Hilltop. My Father-in-Law was the senior T-6 carrier in Roanoke and he would have NEVER let this happen. Two Fails, one the machine reader/sorter and then the final sorter, the person (carrier) that puts in the mailbox.

Carrier today passed all the mail boxes on my side of the street. There was no reason for her not to deliver mail to this side of the street.. Yes it had snowed BUT the City had cleaned the street side to side, gutter to gutter. Not only that I had taken my snow thrower and cleared any remaining snow/ice water from the gutter for about 30 feet with my mail box in the center. Delivery was passed at my neighbors and he had cleaned out to the curb. Carrier made no stops from 592 to 584 on Hilltop Drive. When I take the time to clear out snow around my mailbox for the carrier to get to my mail box, I expect the carrier to stop and deliver. What ever happened to the USPS motto, "Neither rain, nor snow, nor sleet, nor hail shall keep the postmen from their appointed rounds".? My neighbor and I watched the carrier skip all the mailboxes on the even numbered side of the street. Today's mail delivery was UNSATISFACTORY!
