I recently have experienced difficulties collecting two different packages at this location with one being returned to an international shipper because NO NOTICE was ever left at my address despite that being cited as the reason for return. The 2nd package was delivered and accepted though, never signed for - yet that too was also claimed as being done. I'm not upset with that one, just concerned. At least I actually got that one, but since we received additional notices saying that it was still there, I made the trip to physically there this morning just in case this was the package that I now know is on it's way back to France. I have told my international partners to not send any mail requiring a signature to this USPS location as their delivery or management of these items cannot be guaranteed despite assurances to the contrary. I am most concerned about the 1st item that was returned to France on August 22nd as I incurred significant expense to have it shipped, only to end up languishing on a shelf with no notifications requiring my presence and signature EVER received - not at my front door nor in my mailbox. I have had problems with deliveries to this location in the past and have to incur losses in the hundreds of dollars due to missing mail deliveries with claims of delivery to no one at my residence - there's no recompense when the post office closes the case with a denial of any accountability, or responsibility - they simply tell you "you're screwed - get used to it, we're the USPS and you're .....nobody". I have the tracking information from my partner in France - who had no problem getting it over here during their Olympics when things must've been extremely busy on their end - it got to Reston and sat on a shelf and stayed there until it had to go back since NO ONE ever attempted to notify me. That pretty stinks and has made realize that going forward, I may need to look into a postal mailbox in a separate location to ensure I actually receive my mail.
