It is raining heavily right now and for the last 3 hours. My mailbox is attached to the front fence, out in the open but it has a lid which stays closed but is easily opened and flipped back shut. The mail deliverer for the 4900 block of Monitor St walked by, flipped the lid up, put the mail in and walked on without flipping the lid back closed. It is raining heavily! He could have just thrown the mail out on the ground for the same result. I got to the box as it was half wet. Had I not seen the lid up, it would have been totally soaked with a medical bill obliterated. This is very lazy and careless work.
