I visited the Pikesville Post Office on several occasions between July 1, 2024 and July 11, 2024. I wanted to make a semi-annual payment for my Post Office Box. On my initial visit, I discovered that this branch is closed for lunch everyday for over an hour. My subsequent visits were made between 9:30 am and 10:00 am. Each day the customer lines extended all the way back to the main entry doors. I am elderly. I was unable to stand in line for 30 minutes, or so, to receive service. On July 11, I again visited the Pikesville Post Office at 9:00 am. There were approximately 10 customers. Only one Postal Worker was waiting on customers. When my turn came, I explained that I had tried repeatedly to renew my Post Office Box. I was told that the co-worker who could help me "wasn't here yet." I asked, when do you expect her to arrive. She stated, Oh, she said, I'll be there in 10 minutes." I waited in the lobby until 9:30 am. When I saw a woman in an USPS uniform enter the main door, I approached the front counter. The first Postal Worker (who had been working alone) told me to wait a little longer. Finally, at 9:41 am the USPS worker "Sherry" who arrived at work at 9:30 am very angrily told me that that I would have to pay a late fee of $25 to renew the Post Office Box. I explained that I had come to the Pikesville Post Office Branch daily since July 1, but couldn't get in to make the payment due to the very long lines. Sherry said that there was nothing she could do about it, and wanted to know if I was going to make the payment, or not. She stated that she was 'tired.' Her verbal tone and unprofessional attitude was insulting. Sherry presents a very poor example of customer service for the Pikesville Post Office Branch.
